Indexu

by admin on September 12, 2008

The directory script I am most familiar with is Indexu from nicecoder.com. Indexu has been around for a long time and luckily today Indexu is more robust than ever and produces lovely static URLs. All SEO’s know static URLs reign king over dynamic URL’s.

By static URL’s I mean:
yourdomain.com/page.html or yourdomain.com/cat/subcat/etc/ not
yourdomain.com/cat-8.php?=session9023498273kl2kd9 etc. It also allows you to include custom text
and html in every subcategory. This gives you more of an opportunity to include unique content on every page of your directory.

Indexu is capable of allowing you to create custom headers and footers for every category in your directory. So it is highly customizable making it a very attractive script.

Indexu contains all the features one would look for when starting a web directory. It has a built in payment system to accept payment for link submissions, a user control panel, and has an all important admin section where you can import categories and links as well as administer your entire directory.

Because I knew that I was going to be building a lot of directories I went ahead and purchased the unlimited license. This saves you a ton of cash if you’re going to be building more than 15 directories using Indexu.

Yes, you have to invest money in licensing these scripts but I have to tell you that my little investment in directory scripts is nothing compared to the money that I profited from them. I’ll be the first to say that it was a wise investment.

Indexu is by far the directory script I am most accustomed to using and I highly recommend it if you are just starting out.

I won’t list all the features here as they are listed on their website so be sure to check it out:  Indexu features

By the way, my secret directory building method for building large directories fast requires Indexu so if you’re not already using indexu then you’ll want to get yourself a copy.
